Water droplet photography seemed to be an interesting and a challenging project for the long winter nights.
As passionate photographers of Wildlife and Landscape, this really did take us out of our comfort zones.
Essentially, the falling water drops bounce and collide within a split second.
So, creating a spectacle of shape and colour, which we used the camera flash to freeze.
Every image is as interesting as it is unique.
Some people have likened the images to; “Aliens”, Sea Creatures”, “mushrooms”
Our next Exhibition opens in the 20-21 Visual Art Centre Scunthorpe on the 22 October 2019 and closes 2nd November 2019
We are hosting an open evening on Wednesday 23rd October 2019 and will be displaying some additional photos and a slide show. Refreshments will be available
We have obtained sponsorship for the event by 2 local companies: Pepperells Solicitors and the Michelin rated Hope and Anchor in South Ferriby
The exhibition is being mentioned by the local press and on social media
May /June and July 2019

A Drop in Time
Water droplet photography’s not an easy technique.
We set ourselves a task to learn a new photography technique specialty for the exhibition.
It’s taken hours to learn this new challenging photography technique.
It is amazing what you can do with water drops
The technique involves dropping a water droplet into a water tray then dropping a second droplet that collides on the first droplet.
We had to fire the camera and the 4 flash units at the exact split second when the water bounces, enabling us to freeze motion as the water collides.
We have used over 60 batteries in the flash units.
Lots of water and 6 pints of milk
